Launch Announcement: GraceDNS is Officially Live

Today marks the formal launch of GraceDNS, a privacy-first, zero-logging DNS filtering service dedicated to protecting families, churches, ministries, schools, and businesses. While engineered from a foundational Christian worldview, this platform is freely available to anyone seeking to block intrusive ads, telemetry tracking, NSFW material, and gambling sites. Everyone deserves a clean internet.

Our mission is straightforward: to provide a completely free, enterprise-grade filtering tool that strips away malicious and illicit content at the network level—allowing you to focus your screens on what truly matters.

Why DNS?

DNS is the most efficient and straightforward method for network-wide filtering. While highly targeted circumvention can bypass any filter, DNS-level blocking effortlessly handles the vast majority of threats and illicit content before it ever reaches your device. This low technical entry point for configuration, combined with its highly scalable architecture, means that anyone—regardless of IT expertise—can deploy robust, device-agnostic protection across an entire household or organization in minutes.

Launch Infrastructure & Capabilities

GraceDNS is built to compete directly with infrastructure giants like Cloudflare, Google, and Quad9 in uptime and reliability, without compromising on specific moral and security filtering. Our active launch architecture includes:

  • Global Anycast Routing: The entire deployment sits behind a global Anycast network with dedicated IPs allocated. This ensures seamless routing, rolling server updates, and automated failover protection without network downtime.
  • Active Operational Nodes: Rather than staggering our rollout, we have gone ahead and launched simultaneously across two active regional nodes: Dallas (USA) and Frankfurt (Germany).
  • Optimized Filtering: The platform currently drops queries against an optimized Response Policy Zone (RPZ) list consisting of approximately 500,000 blocked domains.

Our Global Footprint: One Node Per Continent

To achieve global low-latency performance matching commercial giants right out of the gate, our hardware positions GraceDNS closest to some of the largest and fastest-growing communities on earth, extending high-speed, localized protection to underserved households, ministries, and organizations.

  • Dallas, USA & Frankfurt, Germany: Powering our foundational North American and European networks with resilient, high-speed filtering.
  • Additional locations coming soon

The Scaling Challenge: Moving to Full Security Lists

While our optimized lists perform exceptionally well for foundational filtering, our mature technical vision requires deploying full-scale enterprise blocking. Transitioning to full security and content blocklists will balloon the dataset from 500,000 domains to over 5,000,000 domains.

Processing a 5-million-domain RPZ list at line rate requires significantly higher RAM and CPU resources per node than our current footprint. Maintaining this across five active global regions means our baseline operational cost per server location is notable. While I am fully underwriting the financial load of our current five-region footprint, scaling the hardware capacity to ingest these massive, comprehensive lists requires community backing.

How You Can Help

GraceDNS is and will always remain 100% free to end-users. We do not gate safety behind a paywall. Your voluntary support through Ko‑fi goes entirely toward:

  • Hardware Upgrades: Increasing RAM and CPU allocations on our five active operational nodes to support the full 5M+ domain blocklists at line rate.
  • Sustaining Global Nodes: Funding the ongoing monthly capacity, bandwidth, and maintenance for our newly deployed South American, African, and Asian nodes.
  • Network Density: Deploying additional nodes at strategic global hotspots behind our Anycast network to support worldwide user growth and further reduce regional latency.
